Der vierte Sieg seit Beginn des Jahres 2022 für das Nationale Basketballzentrum der Schweiz, das im Vallée de la Jeunesse das Schlusslicht BC Bären Kleinbasel besiegte. Mit diesem Erfolg schlossen die Männer von Damien Leyrolles zu Sion Basket auf dem 8. Platz auf, einer Walliser Mannschaft, die beim Leader Vevey Riviera Basket verloren hatte. Hoffnungen auf die Play-offs, aber ein sehr schwieriges Programm für sie bis zum Ende der Vorrunde. 16 Niederlage im 16 Spiel für die Basler, denen noch vier Spiele bleiben, um endlich den ersten Erfolg zu erzielen, mit Spielen u.a. gegen Union Lavaux Riviera Basket und Sion Basket. Die Spieler aus dem Zentrum zeigten sich mit 21 von 59 gegenüber 17 von 58 eine bessere Trefferquote als ihre Gegner und verloren weniger Bälle, 17 gegenüber 24. Ein Spiel, wo die Trefferquote gefählt hat. Nach einem leichten Vorteil für die Bären zu Beginn des Spiels, 4 zu 8 in der 6. Min, drehten die Spieler von Damien Leyrolles den Spieß um und erreichten das Ende des ersten Viertels mit einem Vorsprung von 4 Punkten, 12 zu 8. Bis zur 16. Min war die Partie sehr ausgeglichen, bevor die Spieler aus dem Zentrum mit einem 12:0-Teilerfolg die Entscheidung herbeiführten, 30 zu 18 in der 19. Min. 30 zu 20 zur Pause. Die Bären versuchten danach alles und kamen im vierten Viertel sogar zweimal bis auf 6 Punkte heran, aber ihre Gegner hielten dagegen und gewannen schließlich mit 53 zu 41. Für das Nationale Basketballzentrum erzielte Tristan Frossard 13 Pkt, 8 Rbds, 2 Steals und Nilan Rungasamy 10 Pkt, 4 Rbds, 3 Ass, 2 Steals. Après sa défaite dans le choc au sommet face à Morges-Saint-Prex Red Devils, Vevey Riviera Basket n'a pas tardé à réagir en s'imposant nettement à domicile face à Sion Basket. Les veveysans se retrouvent dorénavant seuls en tête du championnat puisque les hommes de Michel Perrin se se sont inclinés à la salle Im Birch face à GC Zürich Wildcats. Avec leurs 2 défaites, les zürichois restent virtuellement toujours à égalité avec les pensionnaires des Galeries du Rivage à trois semaines du choc entre les deux équipes. Les sédunois voient revenir à égalité à la 8ème place le Centre National du Basket Suisse vainqueur de BC Bären Kleinbasel qu'ils devancent toutefois en terme de confrontations directes. Les valaisans ont bien résisté l'espace de une mi-temps avant que les hommes de Niksa Bavcevic ne fassent définitivement la différence au début de la seconde. Nette domination au final des vaudois dans tous les secteurs du jeu, l'adresse aux shoots à 38 sur 83 contre 16 sur 50, aux rebonds, 51 contre 32, dont 21 en phase offensive et au niveau des ballons perdus, 11 contre 28. Un début de seconde période qui a été fatal aux valaisans. Un partiel de 13 à 2 qui a donné 23 pts d'avance aux vaudois à la 27ème, 50 à 27. Le sort du match était scellé et les joueurs de Niksa Bavcevic pouvaient s'envoler finalement vers un succès aisé sur la marque de 91 à 45. Trois joueurs à mettre particulièrement en exergue pour un Vevey Riviera Basket diminué, Malik Johnson, 32 pts, 7 rbds, 9 ass, 6 int, auteur d'une grande performance, Eliott Kübler, 19 pts, 7 rbds, 6 ass et le jeune Dimitri Clerc, 15 pts, 13 rbds. GC Basketball welcomed back its fans by hitting nine three-point shots, including five in the third quarter to get back in the game, and taking control with 26" left in overtime to defeat Morges, 78-77, for its seventh straight home win. Undefeated at home, the Zurich Wildcats are one win away from securing home-court advantage in the play-offs and proving that it is possible to present attractive basketball with a team built primarily around players 'made in Switzerland'. GC Basketball was powered by 24 points from Nicolas Hulliger, who scored 3 of 3 from the line to put his team ahead by 1 point in the final seconds of the game. After Morges' Red Devils jumped in advantage 55-62, four minutes into the last quarter, the GC's attack was kept alive by two very important baskets in the paint by the veteran Nico Dohnke. With 25" to play, Morges was up by one and the Wildcats needed to steal the ball or get Morges to the free throw line as fast as possible. Morges scored two very important points from the line. And with 13" to go, Mario Gull took his responsibility and launched a three-pointer with one second to go. He got fouled! Birch's bleachers were as silent as during the lock down...1-2-3 the ETHZ student tied the game and suddenly there was a celebration all over the bleachers. The last 5' were a repetition of the whole game: Morges leading, GC answering, GC missing some easy baskets or producing turnovers to allow Morges an easy dunk, but as the coaching staff never despaired, the players never gave up and after Nicolas Hulliger scored the three free throws with 26" to play. Then it was like in American football, it was time for the Zürich Wildcats' defence to control the paint and deny access to the basket, which they did compactly as always behind Ulysse Bengono, who was able to celebrate his birthday with his teammates as a winning team. GC went into OT with a survivor's mentality and as in regular time, they kept coming back after each mistake with a great game and prevented Morges from building a significant lead. GC lost the first period, drew the second and won the last three. As in tennis, the 3-set win gave the fans the most heart-stopping victory this season.

GC Zürich Wildcats

Très important succès de Pully Lausanne Foxes dans la course au Top 5 en ce dimanche face à Groupe E Académie Fribourg U23. Il permet aux hommes de Randoald Dessarzin de rester au contact des équipes les précédant que ce soit son adversaire du jour ainsi que Goldcoast Wallabies qui n'ont qu'une seule défaite de moins. Les vaudois ont également repris le goal-average aux fribourgeois qui n'ont de leur côté pas fait une très bonne affaire. Le Top 4 s'est éloigné pour les pensionnaires de Saint-Léonard qui ont dorénavant deux défaites de plus que le rival cantonal Villars Basket. Derby vaudois pour les hommes de Randoald Dessarzin la semaine prochaine sur le terrain de Morges-Saint-Prex Red Devils alors que les académiciens devront réagir à domicile face au Centre National du Basket Suisse. Les pensionnaires de Arnold-Reymond ont fait principalement la différence de par leur adresse à 3pts à 13 sur 31 contre 2 sur 13. La partie a été des plus équilibrées pendant de longues minutes durant la première période avant que les joueurs locaux ne réussissent à faire la différence juste avant la pause infligeant à leurs adversaires un partiel de 10 à 0 pour mener 39 à 30 à la mi-temps. Les hommes de Ivica Radosavljevic ont tout tenté dès le début de la seconde période parvenant à revenir à 4 longueurs mais les vaudois ont su reprendre leurs distances et assommer leurs adversaires en fin de 3ème quart-temps derrière un Kiran Shastri très inspiré, 12 pts marqués en l'espace de 6 minutes. 59 à 41 à l'entame du money-time. Alerte toutefois à 3 minutes de la fin où les fribourgeois sont revenus à 8 pts reprenant le goal-average. Kiran Shastri le grand homme du match par trois shoots à 3pts consécutifs a remis son équipe sur les rails qui a fini par l'emporter finalement sur la marque de 79 à 62. A noter pour les Foxes les 27 pts, 6 rbds, 2 ass, 4 int de Kiran Shastri, les 16 pts, 5 rbds, 5 ass de Nelson Moke, les 8 pts, 4 rbds, 8 ass, 2 int de Mawuli Asase et les 12 pts, 10 rbds, 3 ass, 2 int de Andres Rodriguez. Die Situation um den fünften Platz hat sich merklich verschärft, wobei für das Zürcher Team eine teuflisch wichtige Woche mit zwei Heimspielen gegen den BC Bären Kleinbasel und gegen Villars Basket ansteht. Die Chancen der Waadtländer, sich für die Play-offs zu qualifizieren, sind noch weiter gesunken, da sie auf jeden Fall am nächsten Wochenende beim Schlusslicht BC Bären Kleinbasel gewinnen müssen. Die Mannschaft von Tresor Quidome entschied das Spiel schnell für sich und verwaltete den Vorsprung gut. Der Unterschied bestand vor allem in der Wurfquote mit 18 von 62 gegenüber 27 von 66. Das Spiel war bis zur vierten Minute ausgeglichen, 6 zu 5, bevor die Mannschaft von Oliver Ghorayeb einen Teilrückstand von 0 zu 11 kassierte, der es den Gegnern ermöglichte, mit 6 zu 16 in der siebten Minute in Führung zu gehen. Sie kamen bis auf 4 Punkte heran, doch Bojan Sekicki sorgte mit zwei Dreiern dafür, dass die Zürcher das erste Viertel mit 10 Punkten Vorsprung beendeten, 12 zu 22. Der Beginn des zweiten Viertels begrub die letzten Hoffnungen der Bewohner der Galeries du Rivage, die fast vier Minuten brauchten, um ihren ersten Punkt zu erzielen, der Spielstand stieg auf 12 zu 34. 24 zu 48 zur Pause. Die Zürcher verwalteten ihren Vorsprung ohne grosse Sorgen und gewannen schliesslich mit 59 zu 77.
